Faces iMake: a creative iPhone app for kids and adults

I have recently downloaded a fabulous creative app for my son, but I am rather keen on it myself and every time I am ‘allowed’ to play with it I get completely sucked in. Faces iMake is an educational app developed by iMagine Machine that lets you create faces with food, everyday objects, musical instruments, letters, tools, buttons, kitchen utensils and school stationery items on colourful backgrounds. You select the background colour as well as the head shape and then just use your imagination to create the facial features. My artistic child is so into it that the gallery already has a good selection of original faces. I love the fact that you are able to create art with everyday objects, which stimulates children’s creativity and helps them see ordinary things in a different light.

Faces iMake Lite is free to download and Faces iMake Premium has a small fee of £0.59, which is worth paying for the additional features including the option to create your own background from your picture gallery and frame your creations. On top of that there are more head shapes in multiple colours and two extra categories of objects: candy and music. Both versions give the option to save your work to the gallery and to share it on Facebook or via email.

The pictures below are some of my son’s first efforts.
