This week’s science topic was The Periodic Table so I had a look around for fun ways to familiarise with the symbols and the concepts of the elements and I found a great board game which is available as a free download on ELLEN MCHENRY’S BASEMENT WORKSHOP. The board is a giant Periodic Table and the players use dice and tokens to move along the board collecting pennies according to the element they land on, or for identifying the elements. The purpose of the game is to memorise the elements , their valence and their position on the table.
I have also created some flashcards for the elements also available as a free download here, the file contains all the  elements so it is a 18 pages long, you may want to print as needed. The back of the card is blank so students can fill it with notions as they come across new data.
