Learn through play: singing the times tables

Submitted by on March 1, 2011 – 3:26 amNo Comment

Times tables is a hot topic in our house at the moment and luckily so far so good. It is just a matter of learning them one by one, but why not making it a little fun too? We already had a cute wooden board game and a range of iPhone apps for practicing, but what I really wanted was some catching songs. I knew that Bob Dorough’s song Three is the magic number, a popular Seventies hit, was actually a song about the three times table, which he wrote for the Kids’ show The School House Rock so I did a little research online and without any difficulty I found the program’s website featuring all the songs about the times tables complete with lyrics and You Tube links for listening to the tunes.

The four legged zoo is one of them, but there are many more all in the same style.
