Pretend play with a creative twist

Pretend play seems to be my son’s favourite activity right now; in particular he likes to pretend to be a restaurant owner/chef who welcomes customers and serves them food. After a few times of playing this game I encouraged him to turn it into creative play and make a restaurant set with people, menus, tables and a chef to act some restaurant scenes.

So we made a backdrop for a garden restaurant, he drew and cut some paper people and dressed a Popsicle stick in chef attire with a monkey face. He has a lot of fun creating various scenarios at his restaurant, which he also films with his camera.
