Recycled crafts: how to build a toy catamaran

First we attached the plastic lid to the bottles using garden wire. Then we tied the garden wire around the bottles and fed it through the plastic top. We secured the wire by tying a knot.
Once we had a solid base we proceeded to complete the sails. We made a hole in the middle of the plastic lid with the help of a screwdriver where we inserted the wooden pole, which became our catamaran’s mast.
We then cut two sails from a plastic bag – we used a white plastic bag, but anything will do – and we tied the two sails to the mast.
I love the catamaran it looks great! Great use of bottles and I bet it floats REALLY well!

Hi Maggy, yes it floats so well!! When we had a go I was almost more excited than my son about it. It’s great for outdoor fun:)
