George Saves the World by Lunchtime by Jo Readman and illustrated by Ley Honor Roberts is a fun book and teaches kids the simple little things they can do everyday to save the planet. George announces he will save the world by lunchtime and with a little help from granddad he has a fun morning learning how. He starts by recycling the yogurt pot from breakfast and placing the banana peel in the compost heap. He goes to the recycle bank and the farmers market by bicycle and learns about ways to reuse the products around and to use local produce to save energy and petrol.

The book is well written and the illustrations are appealing to children, most importantly this book is a good introduction to the 3 Rs, reduce, reuse and recycle and they will learn that by doing a few little things everyday they will help to save the planet just like George.
