Each Peach Pear Plum by Janet and allan Ahlberg is one of those books that has survived the test of time and continues to be a favourite for children and parents alike. It was thought for the very young as it is mainly a picture book with one line of text for each drawing. The catchy rhymes recall characters from popular fairy tales such as Cinderella, the three bears, Bo Beep, Jack and Jill hiding behind something so the child is encouraged to spot them. The stylish cartoon-like illustrations give it that little extra to get children exploring the drawings and find the characters.
