The British Council website www.britishcouncil.org/kids.htm is a great resource for games, songs and learning to read exercises to help your children learn through paly. The website is very well laid out with sections on games, stories, songs, listen read and write, and a parents and teachers area. Every section is then organised in groups, for example the song section is divided into: easy songs, not so easy songs, songs for little kids and traditional songs. Same goes for the stories section that has sub-categories on short stories, longer stories, stories for little kids and fairy tales.  We found a great song about dinosaurs called The Magic Mesozoic Numbers – the dinosaur 1 to 10 – which is great for kids to learn about dinosaurs and good fun to sing along. Afterwards test your knowledge with the dinosaur activities, the quiz-o-saurus challenge is particularly fun.  You have the different types of dinosaurs in a line just like a virtual museum, when you click on them a list comes down with info about that type and the quiz is in the form of questions appearing at the bottom.
