Take your pledge for the environment and pass it on
Recycling and upcycling are high up on my list of priorities so when I read about the ASAP Pledge for the environment (For A World As Sustainable As Possible) organised by Baglady Productions I took my pledge immediately. I have already given up plastic shopping bags last year and replaced them with cotton shoppers, but I am ashamed to admit I often buy prepacked food like salad leaves already washed and ready, oops! So my pledge is to stop buying prepped foods that come with extra unnecessary packaging and to buy more local fresh produce. I will also give up vegetables and fruit that are not in season and are imported from afar.
The pledge is not only about what you are giving up but also about what you intend to take up. For us it is more a case of continuing on a practice we feel strong about, which is to reuse before recycling. Something we do regularly through our weekly crafts with things we find around the house. Our latest craft is the colourful bookshelf in the featured post.
