xmas lanterns on step

Last week I was inspired by the lovely Christmas Tin Can Lanterns I saw on Thinly Spread blog to make some of my own. I have been collecting tins for sometime so all I had to do is get to work and punch them holes in. Well, not as easy as it may look, in fact it requires a lot of hard work as you need to apply quite a bit of strength whilst maintaining a firm hold to avoid punching yourself with the punching tool, which in my case was a stainless steel kebab spike.

I painted some of the tins with red and blue acrylic paint after punching the patterns I wanted on them, but I must say I prefer the natural unpainted version.
