Making heart prints with cork stamps

Submitted by on January 21, 2013 – 4:19 amOne Comment

We printed hearts before using half a potato as a stamp, this time I made a stamp that we can keep out of a used cork. With a scalpel I cut out a heart shape in the cork and used it to stamp many hearts shapes at random on plain white paper, which makes very cute wrapping paper for any Valentine’s Day presents you may have. Then my son had the idea to make a giant heart filled with little hearts and this is the result.

I like to use cork to make stamps, because they are easy to handle and they can be reused.

In fact I made one for St Patrick’s Day and an all purpose star shaped for Christmas and other occasions.
