Storage solutions: wall hanger made out of recycled cardboard

Submitted by on September 13, 2012 – 9:46 amNo Comment

The collection of my son’s tennis caps was becoming a bit of an issue in his room, especially because the number continues to grow.  With every business trip to London daddy returns with a new colour cap from the Rafael Nadal series by Nike. To keep them tidy I thought to hang them on the wall individually so I made a special hanger out of cardboard representing the logo on the caps.I printed a large copy of the logo and had it blown up to A2 size, then I cut out the shapes to make a pattern. I drew the pattern on thick cardboard and cut it with a scalpel. I painted both sides with a mix of glue and acrylic paint and left it to dry before applying another coat. I finished it with a coat of water based varnish to seal it.

I attached it to the wall with board pins, which work perfectly as hanging hooks.
