Quentin Blake’s Amazing Animal Stories

Submitted by on April 19, 2012 – 3:20 am2 Comments

We have just been given a wonderful book with some of the best animal stories from around the world re-told by John Yeoman. These stories are classics that tell you why Coyotes’ teeth are the way they are or how the turtle got his shell, which appeal to children today as much as they did in the past. Quentin Blakes’s Amazing Animal Stories is a wonderful book where these old stories are brought to life by Blake’s fresh and beautiful illustrations. Blake’s use of watecolour is almost casual, which brings movement and life to the drawings complementing the stories perfectly. A wonderful book for parents to read to their children or with them as well as for confident readers to read by themselves.
