Funky recycled lamps by OOO My Design

I love the eco friendly lamps by OOO MY DESIGN made of recycled materials. Not only they are innovative and modern, but they are the perfect example of the beautiful and original pieces that can be made with recycled objects. I was struck by the “Cassette is not dead” lamps made out of audio cassettes held together only by tightly pulled tape. The effect given by the light passing through the transparent cassettes really works and gives interesting light effects. As well as various versions of the “Cassette is not dead” lamp, other striking designs are the lamps made out of recycled Lego and a funky yogurt PETIT lamp.

These are fabulous. I love them. What’s great is it shows that if you have enough of something, a totally new thing can be made. So often we look at an item in it’s singular and treat it as rubbish.

Karen - I totally agree! It’s amazing the stuff you can create with everyday objects. It’s great that more and more designers are going down the recycled way, hopefully we’ll see a lot more this year.
