Photo Friday: A day at Barcelona Zoo
Filed under Travel with kids by Maria at 2:34 am on Nov 13 2009

These photos were taken during our first visit to Barcelona and more specifically at the Zoo, which is one of the best I have visited in Europe. Besides the tour of the animals, we enjoyed the dolphins swimming with their trainers in the open pool and the other activities available for children. The pony riding experience was the height of the day for Luca who still remembers Petrus, the lovely pony in the picture. The playground was very popular too with a high obstacle course that left me watch powerless while my son tackled the route step by step so high off the ground with a great look of satisfaction on his face at every step he took. I know there was a safety net but he wasn’t even 5 at the time and although I was encouraging in the outside I was a complete wreck in the inside. In that instance my husband took charge of photography so that lovely shot is not mine.

Hoping to head to Barcelona in the next few months. Great to see this post…will be adding the zoo to our growing list of things to see/do. I can’t wait to explore that city with the kids. Seems like a very family friendly destination.

Sounds like a great zoo that is perfect for family (which zoo doesn’t, right?
)

The pony is magic! Barcelona was on our hit-list pre kids and we never got there. Sounds like we have even more reason to go now that we have kids!
