Not only Veja shoes look good, they have a mission and a very good one: a better world for all of us. These great canvas trainers designed and produced by French company Veja are made from organic cotton, which is grown in complete fair trade and the rubber soles are made of natural latex coming straight from the Amazon Forest in the Chico Mendes reserve, the only place in the world where wild rubber trees are found. The latex is extracted by syringe from the trees, without having to chop them down, by the Seringueros who have been doing it for more than two hundred years. Natural rubber is renewable and biodegradable and supports deforestation. Veja children collection was inspired by the Veja Taua for adults with a reinforced sole and a built-up front. Kids’ sizes run from 2 to 10 year olds. In addition to the kids line there is also a cute baby collection. These great shoes are sold worldwide, for a shop near you check the list of retailers on the Veja website.
